2012 Summer Garden Party - 50 Fingers & 88 Keys
Hear five pianists scheduled to appear in the 2012-13 season play a variety of solo and piano 4 hands music in a shady outdoor setting with a sumptuous lunch.
The pianists are Gloria Cheng, Steven Vanhauwaert, Danny Holt, Genevieve Feiwen Lee, and Aron Kallay. They will be performing music of Eric Satie, Tobias Picker, Alvin Lucier, Nico Muhly, John Cage, David Lang, Veronika Krausas and Olivier Messiaen.
Composers Eric Satie, Alvin Lucier and John Cage will be featured in the pre-season Cage 100 Festival September 6-9, while Picker is featured in the 2012-13 season - in October 20th. Artists and repertoire are subject to change.
