FIERCE BEAUTY: Music of Peter Eotvos & Gyorgy Ligeti (LA Phil Focus on Eotvos)
Spanning six decades, this fiercely beautiful music by Hungary's master composers, Peter Etvos and Gyorgy Ligeti, will challenge, astonish, gratify and amuse. Jacaranda's first co-commission will receive its U.S. premiere under the direction of the composer. This Eotvos setting of Friedrich Schiller's text for singers, winds, percussion and accordion launches the LA Phil's Focus on Eotvos week, which will include a concert version of the opera Angels In America and the world premiere of the violin concerto Do Re Mi commissioned by the LA Phil for Midori.
